Lewisburg couple sues Ford for vehicle defects

HUNTINGTON -- A Lewisburg couple is suing Ford Motor Company after they claim a vehicle they purchased did not conform to its warranty.

On May 8, 2007, Billy G. and Mindy W. McCormick purchased a new 2008 Ford F-450 pickup truck from an authorized Ford dealer for $53,562.45, according to a complaint filed Jan. 22 in Cabell Circuit Court.

The McCormicks claim after the purchase they experienced repeated non-conformities with the vehicle, which impaired its use and market value.

After a reasonable number of attempts to do so, the manufacturer did not conform the vehicle to its warranty or replace it with a comparable new vehicle, according to the suit.

The McCormicks are seeking for revocation of acceptance and refund on the purchase price of the vehicle and damages for the costs of repair, loss of use, annoyance and inconvenience. They are being represented by D. Scott Bellomy and Ryan Turner.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
