WINFIELD -- A man is suing Walgreen Company, two contractor companies and an individual for not paying him for building materials.
John Slevin provided materials for use in a building project at the Hurricane Walgreen Store, according to a complaint filed Jan. 25 in Putnam Circuit Court.
Slevin claims the materials cost $21,000, but upon completion of his contractual obligations, Walgreens, Davis & Burton Contractors, Brasch/Barry General Contractors and Ed H. Street have not paid him for the materials.
The defendants have been "unjustly enriched as they have received an economic benefit by way of the materials provided by the plaintiff, but they have not tendered any consideration for the economic benefit bestowed," according to the suit.
Slevin is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by J. Robert Leslie of Tyree, Embree & Leslie.
The case has been assigned to a Circuit Judge O.C. Spaulding.
