HUNTINGTON -— A former employee is suing InfoCision Management Corporation and an unknown entity after she was injured on the company's property.
Rebecca Whittington was employed at InfoCision as a telecommunications representative.
On Feb. 14, 2008, Whittington attempted to walk up the concrete ramp leading to the employee entrance of the building when she stepped on ice and fell, according to a complaint filed Feb. 4 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Whittington claims she immediately felt a painful burning sensation in her right hip and upper leg and waited approximately one hour for it to subside, but when it did not, she informed her supervisor of the accident and filled out an accident report and left to go to the emergency room.
As a result of the accident, Whittington developed reflex sympathetic dystrophy and has to walk with a cane, suffers from poor circulation, pain and weakness, and has undergone a number of medical treatments and procedures, according to the suit.
Whittington claims the unknown entity was responsible for removing snow and ice from the ramp and for maintaining it in a reasonably safe condition. She claims InfoCision also failed to take action to remove the unsafe working conditions.
Whittington is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Robert B. Warner and William B. Hicks of Warner Law Offices.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
