* In February 2008, Bethany Ward was admitted to WVU Hospital for a left knee arthroscopy to address instability in her left knee. A preoperative femoral nerve block was administered in which the needle was mis-positioned. As a result, the nerve was punctured, causing injury to Ward. As a result, Ward now suffers from left femoral neuropathy, instability in her knee, and pain and numbness. Ward is seeking compensatory and special damages for past, present and future medical expenses; lost income, general damages for pain and suffering, mental anguis, emotional distress, loss of earning capacity and permanent injury.
