HUNTINGTON -- A woman is suing Wal-Mart after she was injured at its U.S. Route 60 location.
On Aug. 23, 2008, Rebecca Moore Dennis was a customer at the Wal-Mart when she slipped and fell in fluid on the floor, according to a complaint filed March 15 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Dennis claims the fluid on the floor was a dangerous and hazardous condition that the defendant knew or should have known was present.
Wal-Mart had a duty to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, according to the suit, and breached its duty by allowing the fluid to be in the floor.
Dennis claims she has had to undergo painful and extensive medical care and treatment because of the fall.
Dennis is seeking compensatory damages in an amount not to exceed $74,999.99. She is being represented by R. Matthew Vital, Jason A. Leasure and Mathew R. Oliver of Vital & Vital, LC.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
