CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County woman is suing The Home Depot after she claims merchandise fell from a shelf and struck her.
On March 16, 2008, Helen R. White was a customer at The Home Depot in South Charleston and was reaching for merchandise on a shelf when the merchandise fell and struck her on the head, according to a complaint filed March 15 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
White claims the defendants negligently placed and maintained the merchandise on the shelf in a matter that allowed it to become unstable.
As a result of the injury, White claims she suffered immediate pain, including headaches, nausea and hospital admission later that day.
White is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Shannon M. Bland.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib Jr.
