Milton man sues Air Products and Chemicals for wrongful termination

CHARLESTON -- A Milton man and former employee is suing Air Products and Chemicals Inc. for wrongful termination.

Joe Wright, an employee at Air Products and Chemicals, also is named in the complaint.

John Donohoe worked for Air Products and Chemicals until his employment was terminated on Sept. 23, 2009, according to a complaint filed March 12 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Donohoe claims the reason given to him for his termination was that he argued with another driver about improper refueling of a tractor or trailer, but he believes it was terminated in retaliation for his own complaints relating to the safety of tractors and trailers.

Rather than remedy the unsafe working conditions Donohoe made complaints about, the defendant terminated Donohoe's employment, according to the suit.

Donohoe is seeking reinstatement to his former position and compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by William M. Tiano.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
