* On Feb. 24, 2007, the Kenova woman claims she purchased bedroom furniture from the Columbus, Ohio, Pottery Barn location and the order was negligently packaged and not properly checked before being shipped to her. When Froble unpacked the furniture, she discovered the footboard was missing and two sets of side rails were incorrectly shipped, according to the suit. She claims when she contacted Pottery Barn she was "rudely told that nothing could be done about the bed." Froble is seeking compensatory damages and the replacement of the bed or return of the purchase price and costs.

* Gary C. Adams was employed by the defendants and on Jan. 19 was knocked off a towboat while working and drowned in the Ohio River, according to the suit. Jonathan Adams claims the defendants were negligent in failing to provide proper equipment and a reasonably safe place for Gary Adams to perform his duties; failing to provide him with adequate assistance; failed to supervise the work being performed; and failed to warn him of the dangers in the area. Jonathan Adams is seeking compensatory damages.

* On Jan. 20, Wickline tripped over uneven and raised bricks in the walkway of the defendant's Ceredo location, causing injury. She claims United Bankshares had a duty of care to construct and keep the brick walkway leading into the bank well lit, ensure all bricks were even and not raised and to keep the walkway in a reasonably safe condition. She is seeking compensatory damages.
