* Cheryl Broadwater was admitted to WVU Hospitals for a hysterectomy that was performed by Dr. Mahreen Hashmi. After her discharge from the hospital she became ill with fever and flu like symptoms. She called her physician's office during the course of the next week and was assured by the nurse that the symptoms were normal following a hysterectomy or she may just have the flu. After experience bleeding, she again called her physicians office, again speaking only to the nurse, and was told bleeding was also normal after a hysterectomy. Broadwater was subsequently admitted to the hospital with sever post-operative infection and sepsis. She is seeking judgment for loss of income, doctor, medical and hospital bills, pain and suffering and permanent injuries.
