* The plaintiffs claim the defendants' combined negligence and reckless misconduct caused a head-on collision on Interstate 81 on Dec. 18, 2008, causing them severe and permanent injuries. The wreck happened after a Penske truck driven by General lost its wheel, which rolled from the southbound to the northbound lanes and caused a tractor-trailer driven by Diaz-Mendoza to lose control, slide across the median and strike the Greens' vehicle. The plaintiffs are seeking more than $1 million in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages.
