WAYNE--A Kenova woman is suing United Bankshares after she was injured at its Ceredo location.
On Jan. 20, Patricia Wickline was entering the bank when she tripped and fell over uneven and raised bricks in the walkway and was injured, according to a complaint filed April 12 in Wayne Circuit Court.
Wickline claims the defendant had a duty of care to construct and keep the brick walkway leading into the bank well lit and ensure that all of the bricks are even and not raised to keep the walkway in a reasonably safe condition.
As a result of the defendant's alleged negligence, Wickline suffered severe injuries, including an unstable displaced right proximal humerus fracture, according to the suit, and has incurred expenses for hospital and physician services, home health care, physical therapy and traveling in the approximate amount of $30,000.
Wickline is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by R.R. Fredeking II and Paul E. Biser.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young Jr.
