Couple sues A-Pro Home Inspection, employee for negligent home inspection

HUNTINGTON -- A Cabell County couple is suing A-Pro Home Inspection Service and one of its employees after they claim he negligently performed a home inspection.

On May 2, 2008, Mark Pemberton performed a home inspection on a home for Nick and Emma Blankenship, according to a complaint filed April 30 in Cabell Circuit Court.

The Blankenships claim Pemberton negligently performed the home inspection by failing to denote substantial problems with the residence.

The problems with the home included defects in the duct system, counter tops, vapor barrier, hot water heater, electrical components and structural components, according to the suit.

The Blankenships claim Pemberton and A-Pro Home Inspection Service breached the agreement to perform an adequate home inspection.

The Blankenships are seeing compensatory and punitive damages. They are being represented by Robert M. Sellards and Ryan Q. Ashworth.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
