Man sues J.B. Hunt, individual for injuries in vehicle crash

CHARLESTON -- A Paden City man is suing J.B. Hunt Transport and an individual after he and his son were injured in a car accident.

On May 1, 2008, Billie Jo Cosper was operating a 2008 Honda Pilot on Interstate 77 with John Cosper and Logan Cosper as passengers in the vehicle, according to a complaint filed April 27 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

John Cosper claims Terry B. Garrie, an employee of J.B. Hunt Transport, was operating a tractor trailer and struck the right side of the Cosper vehicle, injuring him and Logan Cosper.

As a result of Garrie's negligent and improper operation of the tractor trailer and the collision, John Cosper sustained mental and physical injuries, including right shoulder pain; medical bills; pain and suffering; mental anguish; and loss of the ability to enjoy life, according to the suit, and Logan Cosper sustained head and neck pain; medical bills; pain and suffering; mental anguish; and loss of the ability to enjoy life.

John Cosper is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Eric M. Gordon.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
