Rex Wiles and Rita Guthrie vs. WVU Board of Governors

* As co-executors of the estate of Joan Dixon, Wiles and Guthrie seek judgment for Dixon's wrongful death. While a patient of WVU Hospital, Dixon received an MRI of her abdomen, after which, Dr. Umapathy Sundaram, recommended an ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography). While under anesthetic for the ERCP, Dixon's oxygen saturation level dropped, she began hyperventilating, suffered cardiopulmonary arrest and died. Wiles and Guthrie seek judgment to compensate for their wrongful death claim, pre and post judgment interest, attorney fees and costs.

Danielle Owens vs. John and Beth France

* In March 2008, Danielle Owens leased a house owned by John and Beth France. In April 2008, the Frances had trenches dug across the yard and driveway of the property, impeding Owens' access to the house. Owens was unable to get her car into the driveway because of the open trenches and had to park her vehicle in the driveway between the road and the trenches. She requested the trenches be covered but claims they never were. While carrying groceries from her car, she attempted to step across the trench, she fell, sustaining injuries to her lumbar spine, a herniated disc, and radiating pain into her left leg. She is seeking judgment of $20,000 for medical treatment, therapy, and lost earning capacity.

Thomas Morris vs. Fred St. Clair

* Morris claims during 1980 thru 1981, he was sexually abused and exploited by St. Clair. Morris also claims during that time he was under constant threat of bodily harm, was subjected to threats and intimidation. He is seeking court costs, compensatory and punitive damages.
