CHARLESTON -- A North Carolina man is suing Tire Centers after he claims he was struck by one of its employees with a vehicle.
PHH Vehicle Management Services, PHH Vehicle Management Services Group, Wilmington Trust Company and Richard Steven Ashworth were also named as defendants in the suit.
On May 5, 2008, Donnie L. Merritt was lawfully walking in the pedestrian walking area of the Go-Mart Truck Stop on MacCorkle Avenue when Ashworth struck him with his vehicle, according to a complaint filed April 27 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Merritt claims he was knocked to the ground and suffered severe and permanent injuries.
Merritt is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by James B. Lees Jr.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
