Former employee sues AEP, Pritchard Electric for work injuries

WINFIELD -- A former employee is suing American Electric Power Company, Appalachian Power Company and Pritchard Electric Company after he was injured at work.

On May 3, 2008, Hardy Maxwell was working at Appalachian Power and American Electric Power's plant in Putnam County when he was injured by an electrical flash or explosion from electrical equipment, according to a complaint filed April 30 in Putnam Circuit Court.

As a result of the defendants' negligence, Maxwell sustained serious and permanent injuries, incurred medical bills, loss of wages, pain and suffering, emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life, according to the suit.

Maxwell is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Paul S. Perfater.
