Former employee sues Charleston Stamping, supervisor for wrongful termination

CHARLESTON — A former employee is suing Charleston Stamping & Manufacturing after he claims he was wrongfully discharged from his employment.

John Wise was also named as a defendant in the case.

Jarrell W. Mullins was employed by Charleston Stamping & Manufacturing from Jan 1. 1995, until he was discharged on April 9, 2008, according to a complaint filed May 3 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Mullins claims he was discharged from his employment because of his age.

Mullins filed a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and on Dec. 18, 2009, they found that probable cause of age discrimination existed, according to the suit.

Wise was Mullins' supervisor at Charleston Stamping & Manufacturing's, according to the suit.

Mullins is seeking compensatory and punitive damages; back pay and employment benefits; and either reinstatement to former employment or front pay in lieu of reinstatement. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and George B. Morrone III.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles King.
