CHARLESTON -- Four people have filed separate lawsuits against Management & Training Corp., claiming they were wrongfully terminated because of age, race, gender and/or physical handicap.

James Parker filed his age, racial and physical handicap complaint May 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court. Beverly Williams, the director of the Charleston Jobs Corps Center, was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Parker claims his employment was terminated because of his handicap, race and age. The work environment was hostile toward Parker to the extent that his ability to perform his duties was adversely affected, according to the suit.

Parker is seeking damages for loss of income and physical and emotional distress. His case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles King.

Berry Clark filed his age and racial complaint May 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court. Williams also is named as a defendant in the suit.

Clark claims his employment was terminated because of his race and age. The work environment was hostile toward Clark to the extent that his ability to perform his duties was adversely affected, according to the suit.

Clark is seeking damages for loss of income and physical and emotional distress. His case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib Jr.

James Bradley filed his age and racial discrimination complaint May 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court. Williams also was named as a defendant in his suit.

Bradley claims his employment was terminated because of his race and age. The work environment was hostile toward Bradley to the extent that his ability to perform his duties was adversely affected, according to the suit.

Bradley is seeking damages for loss of income and physical and emotional distress. His case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.

Velva Chamberlin filed her gender, age and racial complaint May 14. Lonnie Hall and Ronnie Spudich, the regional director and director of Charleston Job Corps Center, were also named as defendants in the suit.

Chamberlin claims her employment was terminated because of her gender, race and age. The work environment was hostile toward Chamberlin to the extent that her ability to perform her duties was adversely affected, according to the suit.

Chamberlin is seeking damages for loss of income and physical and emotional distress. Her case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.

All four plaintiffs are being represented by Shannon M. Bland.
