Va. woman sues Toyota for defective vehicle

CHARLESTON -- A Tazewell, Va., woman is suing Toyota Motor Sales for a defective 2008 Toyota Tacoma she purchased from Ramey Motors.

On Jan. 1, 2008, Sandi S. Broce purchased the vehicle for $29,000, according to a complaint filed June 22 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Broce claims after purchasing the vehicle, she began to experience repeated non-conformities with the vehicle that substantially impaired the use and market value of the vehicle.

After a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacture did not conform the vehicle to the warranty, nor did Toyota replace the vehicle with a comparable new vehicle, according to the suit.

Broce claims the defendant violated West Virginia Code.

Broce is seeking revocation of acceptance and refund of the purchase price of the vehicle, damages for repair costs and loss of use and punitive damages. She is being represented by Michael L. Glasser.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
