Couple sues Cintas for injuries after trip on carpet

CHARLESTON -- A woman and her husband are suing Cintas Corporation No. 2 after she sustained injuries from a fall.

On July 1, 2008, Debbie M. Conard was at the Fruth Pharmacy in Charleston and was exiting the pharmacy when she tripped on a bump in the temporary carpet and fell, according to a complaint filed June 23 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Conard claims the defendant is contracted by Fruth Pharmacy to maintain the upkeep of the location.

The defendant failed to maintain the pharmacy in a reasonably safe condition, which caused Conard to sustain injuries.

Conard and her husband, Charles Conard, are seeking compensatory damages. They are being represented by Christopher J. Sears and John B. McCuskey.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
