CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County couple is suing General Motors after they purchased a vehicle that was defective.
On July 15, 2006, Harry C. Slaughter and Carla J. Slaughter purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban from the defendant for $48,095, according to a complaint filed June 11 in Kanawha Circuit Court
The Slaughters claim after they purchased the vehicle they experienced several repeated non-conformities and returned it to the defendant for repair.
After a reasonable number of attempts, General Motors did not conform the vehicle to its warranty, nor replace the vehicle with a comparable new vehicle that did conform to the warranty, according to the suit.
The Slaughters claim the defendant violated its obligations under West Virginia Code.
The Slaughters are seeking revocation of acceptance and refund of the purchase price; damages for the repair costs; and damages for loss of use, annoyance or inconvenience. They are being represented by Michael L. Glasser.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
