Man sues Long Run for Wage Payment & Collection Act violations

CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Long Run Transportation after he claims it violated the West Virginia Wage Payment & Collection Act.

Kevin King worked for Long Run Transportation until his discharge on May 26, according to a complaint filed July 7 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

King claims he did not receive his final wages until June 4.

The defendant failed to pay King within 72 hours of his discharge, which is in violation of the West Virgina Wage Payment & Collection Act, according to the suit.

King is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
