HUNTINGTON -- A Huntington woman is using Outback Steakhouse after she slipped and fell in its Barboursville location.
Jeff Castle, who operates Outback Steakhouse, and Christopher Ward, who manages the Barboursville Outback Steakhouse location, were also named as defendants in the suit.
On Aug. 4, 2008, Cathy M. Trador was a business invitee at the Outback Steakhouse and upon leaving her table and passing through a publicly accessible walking area near the entrance to the kitchen, slipped and fell, according to a complaint filed July 19 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Trador claims she slipped on a greasy and unsafe condition and sustained injuries to her back, hips, pelvis and legs.
The defendants owed duties to the public to prevent and look out for unsafe and potentially dangerous conditions and to maintain the walking area near the kitchen in a reasonably safe manner, according to the suit.
Trador claims the defendants breached their duties by allowing the greasy and unsafe condition to exist.
Trador is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Tony L. O'Dell.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
