Wayne Co. man sues Chesapeake Energy for trespassing

WAYNE -- A Wayne County man is suing Chesapeake Energy after he claims its employees trespassed on his property and caused damages.

In February 2009, Chesapeake Energy employees trespassed, entered, used, altered and destroyed property in the Stonewall District belonging to Donald Maynard, according to a complaint filed June 30 in Wayne Circuit Court.

Maynard claims photos were taken of the damages to the property. He claims the verbal proposal made by Joe Johnson, an employee of Chesapeake Energy, for $75,000, was not acceptable.

Maynard is seeking judgment in the amount of $150,000. He is representing himself.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Darrell Pratt.
