CHARLESTON -- A Princeton woman and her husband are suing the Children's Place in Charleston after a mannequin fell on her and caused her injuries.
On Nov. 15, 2008, Brandi Jones-Stables was at the Children's Place and was stooping down and zipping the jacket of her friend's child when an employee knocked over a mannequin display, according to a complaint filed Aug. 3 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Jones-Stables claims the mannequin display fell and struck her in the head and left shoulder and caused her to fall to the floor.
The Children's Place owed a duty to its customers, invitees, guests and shoppers to maintain its premises in a clean, orderly and safe manner, but failed to do so, according to the suit.
Jones-Stables claims her injuries were serious and permanent to her head, back and left shoulder and caused her to incur medical expenses in excess of $5,000.
Jones-Stables and her husband, Brandon Stables, are seeking judgment in an amount yet to be determined. They are being represented by Kevin B. Burgess
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
