* On Aug. 7, 2008, Mr. Strickland was transported to the defendant via ambulance after he reportedly took an unknown amount of prescription medications with alcohol in a possible suicide attempt. Despite the fact that his medical condition was identified as a behavioral emergency, on Aug. 9, 2008, Mr. Strickland was released from restraints, but continued to voice dangerous ideation to his family, who reported the information to the defendant's staff, according to the suit. While still in intensive care, Mr. Strickland disconnected himself from his medical apparatus, got out of his bed, proceeded out of his room and down a hospital staircase, where he died. Mrs. Strickland is seeking compensatory damages.

* Compton began her employment with the defendant in 1971. In 1991 she was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. In April 2009, Compton claims her supervisors suggested she retire since she had reached the age of 60, even though she was able to perform her job functions. She claims when she refused to retire, the defendant suspended her until she could secure medical evaluations to conform she was still able to perform her job functions, which she did and was permitted to return to work on May 11, 2009. The suspension was an adverse action taken against Compton due to her disability and age, according to the suit. Compton is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
