WAYNE -- A Wayne County woman is suing Odessa Corporation after she claims it violated state code by failing to pay her wages.
On Feb. 18, 2009, Crystal Johnson began her employment for Odessa, which operated the Kenova McDonald's, according to a complaint filed July 22 in Wayne Circuit Court.
Johnson claims the defendant has violated the West Virgina Wage Payment and Collection Act by not paying her for all of the hours she works, asking her to work while she is "off the clock" and altering her paychecks to reflect fewer hours than she actually worked in a pay period.
The defendant caused Johnson to suffer due to the manager altering the computer system records to reflect fewer hours worked, according to the suit.
Johnson is seeking judgment for an amount equal to loss of all wages with interest and liquidated damages. She is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson, George B. Morrone III and G. Patrick Jacobs.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Darrell Pratt.
