Couple sues Chrysler for defective vehicle

CHARLESTON -- A couple is suing Chrysler Group after they claim the vehicle they purchased was defective.

On Sept. 6, 2008, Jewell and Jon Bragg purchased a 2008 Dodge Nitro from the defendant for $26,181.75, according to a complaint filed Aug. 13 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The Braggs claim the defendant issued and provided them with a written warranty that included three-year or 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage.

Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, the Braggs began to experience defects with the vehicle, including defects in the steering, suspension, fluid leak, electrical, noise and drive-ability, according to the suit.

The Braggs claim they afforded the defendant a reasonable number of attempts to correct the defects, but it did not do so.

The Braggs are seeking compensatory damages. They are being represented by Hugh C. Wood.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
