CHARLESTON -- A Chapmanville couple is suing General Motors Company and Thornhill Superstore after they claim the vehicle they purchased was defective.
On Nov. 30, 2008, Justin and Chrissy Adkins purchased a 2008 Pontiac Torrent from Thornhill Superstore, according to a complaint filed Sept. 8 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
The couple claims they experienced repeated non-conformities with the vehicle, including engine problems, battery problems, vibrating brakes and electrical problems.
The defendant had a duty to design and/or manufacture a product reasonably free from defects and/or non-conformities and failed to do so, according to the suit.
The couple is seeking revocation of acceptance and refund of the purchase price of the vehicle and damages for loss of use, annoyance and inconvenience. They are being represented by Damon L. Ellis.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
