Cabell man sues Dart for discrimination

WAYNE -- A Cabell County man is suing his former employer after he claims he was wrongfully discharged because of his age or disability.

From Dec. 6, 1996, until March 24, Larry Ray Holderby Sr. was employed by Dart Trucking Company as a truck driver, according to a complaint filed Oct. 12 in Wayne Circuit Court.

Holderby claims his employment was terminated because of his age, 67, or because of his disability.

The Kenova company's discrimination was in violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act, according to the suit.

Holderby is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and reinstatement to former employment. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and G. Patrick Jacobs.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young.
