CHARLESTON -- A Cabell County man named 81 companies as defendants in an asbestos suit for his father's death.
Forrest E. Edwards worked for approximately 30 years at Union Carbide Corporation as a laborer and millwright, according to a complaint filed Oct. 15 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Dwight Edwards, Forrest E. Edwards' son, claims his father was directly and indirectly exposed to various insulating and building materials that contained asbestos and asbestos fibers.

Dwight Edwards claims the defendants failed to take reasonable precautions to warn his father of the danger of being exposed to the asbestos products.
Dwight Edwards is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by William K. Schwartz.
The case has been assigned to a visiting judge.
