Ga. couple names 80 defendants in asbestos suit

CHARLESTON -- A Georgia couple named 80 companies as defendants in their asbestos-related suit after they claim the companies are responsible for a lung cancer development.

On July 9, 2009, Benny Charles Taylor of Milledgeville, Ga., was diagnosed with lung cancer, according to a complaint filed Oct. 25 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Taylor and his wife, Dorril J. Taylor, claim the 80 defendants are responsible for the lung cancer development because they exposed him to asbestos and/or asbestos fibers.

Mr. Taylor was employed by Delta Construction, J.B. Stevens, CC Taylor & Son and J.A. Jones Construction Company from 1955 until 2000, according to the suit, which caused him to be exposed to asbestos products of the defendants.

The Taylors are seeking a jury trial to resolve all issues involved. They are being represented by Victoria Antion and Bronwyn I. Rhinehart.

The case has been assigned to a visiting judge.
