Upshur Co. woman sues attorney for failure to competently represent her

MORGANTOWN -- An Upshur County woman is suing a Monongalia County attorney that she claims failed to competently represent her.

Jennifer Loudin hired John Michael Cavendish to prosecute and litigate a claim against various entities in Jefferson County, according to a complaint filed Nov. 10 in Monongalia Circuit Court.

Loudin claims the claim involved a home she purchased in which various entities were involved in an improper septic inspection, which ultimately resulted in destruction of the home and led to a foreclosure.

The defendant failed to competently represent Loudin in a variety of ways, according to the suit.

Loudin claims the defendant breached his contract with her and was negligent in his representation and/or service.

Loudin is seeking compensatory damages with interest. She is being represented by Erika Klie Kolenich.
