CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Pilot Travel Centers for violating the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.
John Poe was employed by the defendant from Sept. 23, 2009, until Aug. 12, according to a complaint filed Nov. 12 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Poe claims the defendant only paid him for 37.5 work hours even though he worked 40 hours each week.
The defendant failed to pay Poe wages, therefore violating the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, according to the suit.
Poe is seeking judgment in an amount equal to loss of all wages with interest and liquidated damages. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson, George B. Morrone III and G. Patrick Jacobs.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
