CHARLESTON -- A Charleston woman is suing Rite Aid Store #948 after she claims an unknown employee disclosed person prescription information to third parties.
Nicole D. Thomas had a prescription filled at the Rite Aid store in Charleston, which she claims was personal, according to a complaint filed Nov. 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Thomas claims Rite Aid and an unknown employee had a duty to protect personal prescription information from disclosure to third parties, and breached this duty, which caused her harm.
Rite Aid caused damage to Thomas' reputation, according to the suit.
Thomas is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Adrian Hoosier II.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
