CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing AMFM after she claims her husband suffered injuries while in Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Manzanita Holdings LLC, Manzanita Management Inc., Lifetree LLC, Wisteria LLC, Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center LLC d/b/a Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Rick Shrewbury, John Does 1 through 10, and Unidentified Entities 7 through 10 (as to Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) were also named as defendants in the suit.
On Feb. 15, Ralph Keffer was admitted to the defendants' nursing home, where he remained a resident until April 28, according to a complaint filed Dec. 3 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Nellie Keffer claims her husband was no longer competent to handle his own affairs due to dementia, and his cognitive and physical skills were impaired.
The defendants caused Ralph Keffer to suffer catastrophic injuries, disfigurement, extreme pain, suffering, mental anguish and death, according to the suit.
Nellie Keffer claims Ralph Keffer suffered a fracture, malnutrition, dehydration, falls and lacerations while he was a resident at the nursing home.
Nellie Keffer is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by James B. McHugh and Michael J. Fuller Jr.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
