CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing New Century Emergency Physicians of West Virginia after she claims they failed to remove a large piece of a broken mirror from her side.
Dr. John A. Turley was also named as a defendant in the suit.
On Nov. 22, 2009, Jennifer Facello presented to the emergency room for injuries she sustained from falling against a mirror, according to a complaint filed Dec. 8 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Facello claims the defendants failed to take proper steps to remove a large piece of broken mirror from the left side of her body.
The defendants discharged Facello with the broken glass remaining inside of her body, which violated the standard of care, according to the suit.
Facello is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Mart A. Atkinson.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles King.
