HUNTINGTON — Three names have been submitted to the governor's office for a circuit judge position in Cabell County.
The three are Cabell County Prosecutor Chris Chiles and attorneys Paul Farrell and Cheryl Henderson.
The state's Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission recommending the trio after interviews late last week. Judge Dan O'Hanlon retired last year, leaving the position vacant.
The commission is now addressing the vacancy of Marion Circuit Judge Fred Fox, who retired Nov. 30. The interviews for that opening are scheduled for Jan. 31.
Appointed members of the commission include Kent Carper of Charleston, Sam Duncan of Huntington, Bert Ketchum of Huntington, Kenny Perdue of Fairmont, Steve Robey of Charleston, Scudiere of Morgantown, Charles S. Trump IV of Berkeley Springs and Don Wagenheim of Wheeling.
West Virginia University School of Law Dean Joyce McConnell, State Bar President Letitia Chafin, and Kurt Dettinger, designee of Gov. Tomblin, are ex officio members of the commission.
