St. Albans couple sues K-Mart for injuries

CHARLESTON -- A St. Albans couple is suing K-Mart for injuries sustained at its store.

On Oct. 28, Amanda L. Childress was at K-Mart in St. Albans when she slipped on a foreign substance in the floor and was injured, according to a complaint filed Dec. 29 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Childress claims the fall caused her to suffer injuries to her big toe on her left foot and lower back.

The defendant failed to maintain a safe floor that was free of water, according to the suit.

Childress and her husband, Darrin Childress, are seeking compensatory damages. They are being represented by Stephen P. Meyer.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
