Spurlock woman sues 80 companies for husband's lung cancer, death

CHARLESTON – A Spurlock woman is suing 80 companies after she claims they are responsible for her husband's lung cancer and death.

In September, Harless Street was diagnosed with lung cancer, of which he died Oct. 12, according to a complaint filed Jan. 12 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Annetta J. Street claims the defendants exposed her husband to asbestos during his working career from 1953 until 1989.

The defendants are being sued upon theories of negligence, contaminated buildings, breach of expressed/implied warranty, strict liability, intentional tort, conspiracy, misrepresentation and post-sale duty to warn, according to the suit.

Mrs. Street is seeking a jury trial to resolve all issues involved. She is being represented by Victoria Antion and Bronwyn I. Rinehart.

The case has been assigned to a visiting judge.
