CHARLESTON – A Putnam County woman is suing her former employer after she claims her employment was terminated because of her gender.
Bridget Gillispie was employed by Electronic Specialty Company from Aug. 16, 2005, until May 17, 2010, according to a complaint filed Jan. 10 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Gillispie claims she properly performed all of her job duties as required by the defendant during her employment.
The defendant violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act by discriminating against Gillispie because she is a female, according to the suit.
Gillispie is seeking judgment for an amount equal to loss of all back pay and employment benefits along with reinstatement to former employment or front pay in lieu of reinstatement; and compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and George B. Morrone III.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
