San Francisco company sued over faulty jukeboxes

HAMLIN -- L&P Vending claims five jukeboxes purchased from a San Francisco company would not function.

L&P, based in Barboursville, said following delivery it paid invoices with checks of $9,998 and $14,997. The jukeboxes were intended for various locations in Lincoln County. After "multiple attempts to install said jukeboxes," according to the complaint, ECAST was contacted to give technical support.

The jukeboxes never were successfully installed and L&P contacted ECAST in November 2009 for instructions about returning the machines. Five jukeboxes were shipped November 24 to co-defendant Arrow Electronics Inc. at a Phoenix, Ariz., address. Arrow was believed to be at least a part manufacturer of the jukeboxes.

Plaintiff contends it made numerous contacts with the defendants seeking refund of $24,995 in paid invoices, but had not received any refund as of Jan. 14, when the case was filed.

L&P seeks damages plus court costs, attorney fees and other relief.

L&P is being represented by attorney Ronald G. Salmons, and the case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jay M. Hoke.

Case number: 11-C-5
