Woman sues National Tire & Battery for injuries

HUNTINGTON -- A woman is suing National Tire & Battery after she claims she was injured at its Barboursville location.

On Sept. 22, 2010, Melissa Mynes was at the defendant's business for the purpose of purchasing tired for her vehicle when she tripped over a defect in the concrete sidewalk and was injured, according to a complaint filed Jan. 24 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Mynes claims the defendant had a duty to maintain its premises in a safe condition and failed to do so.

The defendant was negligent in permitting a hazardous condition to exist on its premises, according to the suit.

Mynes claims she suffered injuries and incurred hospital and medical bills.

Mynes is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Michael C. Walker.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
