CHARLESTON -- A Huntington man is suing Management and Training Corp. after he claims he was discriminated against because of his race and age.
Beverly Williams, the director of the Charleston Job Corps Center for Management and Training Corp., also was named as a defendant in the suit.
John Coats, who is above 40 years old and African American, was employed by the defendants, according to a complaint filed Jan. 26 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Coats claims his employment was terminated because of his age and race.
The defendants violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act, according to the suit.
Coats claims the defendants also created a hostile work environment.
Coats is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Shannon M. Bland.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
