CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing Rush Equipment Company after she claims she was discriminated against.
Gloria Hensley was employed by the defendant for several years and claims after she filed a formal complaint against a member of management, she was treated differently, according to a complaint filed Feb. 3 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Hensley claims she ultimately had her work hours cut from 40 hours per week to less than 20 hours per week, which caused her to lose her insurance benefits.
Additionally, Hensley has a child and was required to miss work due to caring for the child, according to the suit.
Hensley claims the defendant discriminated against her and created a hostile work environment, which violates the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
Hensley is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre-judgment interest. She is being represented by D. Adrian Hoosier II.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
