CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing Marmet SNF Operations after she claims her mother was mistreated while in the nursing home.
Genesis Healthcare Corporation was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Ann Gore was a resident of the defendants in 2008 and 2009, according to a complaint filed Feb. 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Brenda S. Bragg, Gore's daughter, claims the defendants failed to care for her mother in a manner and in such an environment so as to promote the maintenance or enhancement of her quality of life.
Bragg claims the defendants were negligent and are responsible for her mother's death.
Bragg is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by Andrew L. Paternostro and Jeff D. Stewart.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
