Woman sues GMC for defective vehicle

CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing General Motors Corporation after she claims a vehicle she purchased was defective.

Joe Holland Chevrolet was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On June 15, 2010, Kimberly Wills purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Impala from the defendants, according to a complaint filed Feb. 9 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Wills claims after purchasing the vehicle, she discovered and experienced repeated non-conformities with the vehicle and returned it to the defendants for repair on at least four occasions.

Despite Wills' efforts to allow the defendants an opportunity to repair the vehicle, they failed to do so, according to the suit.

Wills claims she notified the defendants of the defective conditions of the vehicle, but they failed and refused to provide a comparable replacement vehicle and to reimburse her.

Wills is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by David L. Grubb and Cameron S. McKinney.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
