* On Aug. 6, 2002, Sammons placed a rapid palatal expander with facemask on the Wayne County woman, who was a minor at the time. Copley claims Sammons' inappropriate use and implementation of the rapid palatal expander and facemask caused her to suffer damage to her chin, which has created a permanent disfigurement. She is seeking compensatory damages.

Patsy Moore vs. Bruce Wooten, as president of B&A Foods d/b/a Ponderosa Steakhouse; and Winston Monroe, individually and d/b/a Ponderosa Steakhouse

* On Aug. 8, 2010, the Martin County, Ky., woman walked from the Ponderosa parking lot to the handicap ramp to go into the restaurant when she tripped on the edge of the ramp and fell, severely cutting her left hand. Moore claims an employee at the restaurant instructed her to go to the Med Express located next door and that they would pay for her medical expenses, so she complied, but the defendant then refused to pay for the expenses. She is seeking compensatory damages.

Jennifer M. Sammons, individually and as mother and next friend of her minor child, Deven Hutchinson vs. the Cafaro Company, an Ohio corporation d/b/a Huntington Mall

* On Aug. 2, 2010, Sammons and Hutchinson were at the Huntington Mall when they slipped and fell in a liquid substance that had accumulated on the floor and were injured. They are seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

* On March 7, 2009, Ellington was an observer with her daughter of a scientific demonstration in the College of Science. Ellington claims while observing, she was called by an employee or agent of the defendant to participate in the scientific demonstration when an explosion occurred, injuring her hands. She is seeking compensatory damages.
