Ky. woman sues Huntington Mall for injuries

HUNTINGTON -- A Kentucky woman is suing the owner of the Huntington Mall after she claims they caused her and her son injuries.

On Aug. 2, 2010, Jennifer M. Sammons and her son, Deven Hutchinson, were at the Huntington Mall when they slipped and fell in a liquid substance that had accumulated on the floor, according to a complaint filed March 4 in Cabell Circuit Court. The Cafaro Company owns and operates the Huntington Mall.

Sammons claims the defendant failed to use due care and were negligent.

The defendant caused Sammons and her son to suffer mental anguish and distress; pain and suffering; medical expenses; aggravation, annoyance and inconvenience; and loss of enjoyment of life, according to the suit.

Sammons is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Thomas H. Peyton.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
