Putnam man sues Novo Nordisk for wrongful termination

CHARLESTON -- A Putnam County man is suing Novo Nordisk after he claims his employment was wrongfully terminated.

Stefanie Henrich, a diabetes care specialist employed by Novo Nordisk, was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Christopher W. Kinder was employed by Novo Nordisk for more than six years in the field of pharmaceutical sales, according to a complaint filed March 10 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Kinder claims during his employment, he reported concerns to his regional director about Novo's use of the Internet to supply controlled substances.

Kinder suffered from a medical condition that required him to miss work, according to the suit. He claims after he complained about the controlled substances, his employment was terminated and his final wages were not given to him within 72 hours.

The defendants also failed to reimburse Kinder for outstanding expenses, according to the suit.

Kinder is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre-judgment interest. He is being represented by Michael A. Olivio and Travis A. Griffith.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
